Crush – Friday Fictioneers July 5/13

Friday Fictioneers is sponsored by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.  The idea is to write a 100 word story with a beginning, middle and end based on the photo prompt.

**Fellow Fictioneers, I will be in cottage country and unplugged from tech.  I’ll catch up with your comments and stories when I return next week.  Happy summer!

Crush

(100 words)

“What’s the point, John?”

“Huh?”

“The point.”  She touched one of the figures with the eraser end of her pencil.  “Where are the people climbing to?”

“Anywhere.”

“Can you tell me why you would put people sitting in a dangerous position on a metal railing?”  She crossed her arms.

“They’re looking.”

She leaned toward him.  “Looking at what, John?”

He withdrew.  “Stuff.  Out there.”

“I’ll be meeting with your parents again.  You’d better think seriously about pulling your grade three socks up.”

When she’d stomped off, he uncrossed the female figure’s legs and posed her standing on the metal edge.

  1. Cool idea to turn it into artwork. And I enjoyed that he made the figure stand up: more of a precarious position, but she can see the stuff out there better.
