Monster Hill

(100 words)

Would anyone ever see it through her eyes?  The thick-bricked building with boarded up windows, save for one on the top floor from which he could cast his watchful eye, needlessly, upon the eternally empty fields.  A reliable pining owl was the only creature that had offered any comfort or sense of a world outside her prison walls.  The shack above had been where all the endless banging and molding took place as he crafted his next torturous device.  She shivered, even in her freedom, certain she could still hear the echo of his mad work ringing through the hills.

  1. Sad how some get so much pleasure in torturing another living being-wonder if he was her father or her husband and oh so glad that she could escape-hope that he is dead and soon she will be able to put away those black memories !Great writing 🙂
