Friday Fictioneers is sponsored by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The idea is to write a 100 word story with a beginning, middle and end based on the photo prompt.

Of Things Broken
(100 words)
“Archie!”
“Yes, luv. Is that you just in then?”
“Come here! What is this piece of shit sitting in the hallway?”
“Now, now luv – ”
“No, I don’t even want to hear it. You promised. You agreed to no more junk in this house!”
“It’s not my junk you see luv, it’s -”
“It’s your bloody junk in our bloody house, which makes it our common junk to add to all the other common junk you have stashed in here!”
“It’ll be gone -”
“No, Archie, I’ll be gone. You won’t hoard me. I’m done. I want a divorce.”
The last straw then… I could just imagine this.
Yes the last straw in what sounds like a large pile of straws!
Very well-judged dialogue.
Thank you!
Dear Denmother,
Well chosen words from a smart lady. Now he’ll surely have more room for what he really loves.
